Sadly there is no such toyline, but the title is moreso based on the fact that I've gotten a couple blindpacks that happen to be based around these opposing superhero franchises. So, click "Read more" and see what we've got...
The Heroics line is something very simple. For 97 cents, you get a plastic ball that you pop open and inside will be one of Marvel or DC's heroes, in the form of a 1" tall figurine.
But if it's DC and Marvel, why the title? Well...
I got Superman. Superman - The most DC-centric you could get. I guess that's a win? I found myself a bit disappointed only because it's such a typical thing to get and I don't find Superman all that interesting, but I'll save my controversial character opinions for another time.
The sculpting is nice, I wish I could say the same about the paint on the face, but... the tiny Superman symbol on his chest looks good! The colors are also nice and vibrant. This does lead me to think this could be a promising toyline to look into, the absolutely cheap price makes it even more enticing.
Next up is...
Mega Bloks' Marvel blindpacks! I figured, why not? Like their other lines, a couple bucks gets you a tiny poseable figure. So...
What I ended up getting was Mr. Fantastic! Well, that's someone I know from my childhood, so that works for me. I remember watching the Fantastic Four cartoon in reruns during the 90s. And watching The Thing's own weird cartoon which wasn't all that good. Anyway.
Mr. Fantastic comes with parts to assemble what I suppose is some kind of ray gun, cause you know, SCIENCE! Mr. Fantastic looks just about like I'd imagine him looking, he's got some nice paint in his hair with the greying areas. There's a lot of blue, and I like blue, so I'm biased towards this one.
The articulation in this figure is surprising, at least considering their other toylines. Balljointed elbows and thighs, bends a the knees and elbows, balljointed head, and of course swivels at the wrists and waist.
I found the assembly of these intriguing. Gonna need to check em out again some time.
Not a bad pair. Of course Mega Bloks gives you more in terms of content, but Heroics isn't a bad line itself. They're both fairly inexpensive and go for a number of heroes (sometimes villains) from the comic books. Worth checking out.
